MP Kakhiani: Peaceful protests are protected, violence meets proportionate response
“When protests are peaceful, freedom of expression is guaranteed. However, when they turn violent, the police respond proportionately,” Giorgi Kakhiani, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, told the GPB First Channel.
Kakhiani emphasized the importance of peaceful demonstrations.
“Protesters have the right to express their views, and the state will protect these rights. However, if protests escalate into violence, the state will respond appropriately and proportionately,” he added.
