Mothers Day is marked in Georgia on March 3. First President of Independent Georgia Zviad Gamskhurdia set the day. It was approved by Supreme Council of Georgia in 1991.

Mothers Day was intended to replace March 8 – International Women’s Day but it is celebrated separately. Mothers Day is a day off in Georgia.
