The First Lady of Georgia, Tamar Bagrationi, congratulated female inmates at the N5 (Women’s) Penitentiary Institution on Mother’s Day, the Administration of the President of Georgia reported.
According to the statement, the First Lady attended a Mother’s Day concert held with the participation of female prisoners. She was accompanied by Minister of Justice Paata Salia and Members of Parliament Nino Tsilosani and Eka Chichinadze, along with other invited guests.
During the visit, Tamar Bagrationi toured the renovated sewing workshop, which is set to open in the near future, as well as the beauty salon, fitness center, and library operating within the facility. These spaces are intended to support the resocialization and rehabilitation of inmates.
Female prisoners presented the First Lady and guests with handmade items created within the institution.
