Minister of Economy, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister accentuate cooperation in transport, tourism, energy sectors

Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan accentuated cooperation in the transport, tourism and energy sectors to further intensify Georgia-Armenia trade-economic relations and ties.

According to the Georgian Economy Minister, the meeting was prolific.

“It is a priority for us to maximize the use of existing relations with Armenia to promote the export of Georgian products to Armenia, which will definitely assist Georgian entrepreneurs,” she said.

Mariam Kvrivishvili highlighted Georgia’s role and its contribution in ensuring peace in the region, while the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia welcomed Georgia’s setting a symbolic tariff for the transportation of fuel products from Azerbaijan to Armenia

The Minister reconfirmed that Georgia continues to be a reliable connectivity partner, a transit country between the Republic of Armenia and the countries of the European Union.

“In this respect, we have many joint plans, including over the development of infrastructure, which will ensure the strengthening of the energy sector in terms of electricity on the one hand and gas supply on the other,” she said.

Deputy Ministers Gennady Arveladze and Tamar Ioseliani, and Georgian Ambassador to Armenia Giorgi Sharvashidze attended the meeting.
