Girchi’s Raqviashvili happy for youngsters released from prison

“I am happy for the youngsters who were released from prison. I hope many others will leave jail,” said Aleksandre Raqviashvili, one of the leaders of the Girchi party.

According to Rakviashvili, those who want to use the fact that youngsters are in prison are immoral.

“I am happy for the youngsters who were released from prison. I hope many others will leave jail. They did nothing wrong. Those people who want to use the fact of youngsters’ being in prison are immoral. All such statements I heard saying it would have been better for them to remain in prison indicate their remorse,” he said.

Among the prisoners pardoned by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on the occasion of the Mariamoba holiday are individuals who were detained during various protest rallies.

Kavelashvili pardoned 226 people in total on the occasion of Mariamoba. According to the President’s Administration, the pardon applies to 217 people serving prison sentences and six people serving non-custodial sentences, while three individuals had their criminal convictions expunged.
