Officers of the Migration Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), in close coordination with relevant units, have deported 98 foreign nationals from Georgia.

Through recently undertaken comprehensive measures, a total of 98 citizens, including those from China, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, India, Egypt, Russia, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Germany, Nigeria, Iraq, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Kenya and Congo, have been expelled from Georgia.

The Migration Department said that 232 foreign nationals were expelled from Georgia in January, while 312 foreigners were deported in February. Thus, in two months of this year, the total number of foreign citizens expelled from the country reached 544 people.

The statistics show a 346 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, and the number of deported individuals is 4.5 times higher than in the same period in 2025.

The Migration Department remarked that the tightened regulations by the legislation forced illegal migrants to leave the country voluntarily.

“In January-February of this year, 1,306 foreigners who had violated the terms of their legal stay in the country left Georgia. They were fined 1000-3000 GEL by the Administrative Code of Law Violations. In addition, they were banned from entering the country for a period of one to three years,” the Migration Department said.

The Migration Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs is responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. Its mandate includes identifying foreign nationals residing without legal grounds and expelling them through intensive immigration controls and other measures.
