Michael Botkoveli: No second letter to be sent to Russian Patriarch

The second letter will not be sent to Russian Patriarch regarding assistance to mediate with the Georgian side in repatriation of body of Archil Tatunashvili, Georgian citizen who died in occupied Tskhinvali region – Michael Botkoveli, Press Secretary of Georgian Catholicos Patriarch, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II stated.

‘We have preliminary information that Russian Patriarchate accepted our request to help in resolution of the problem. However, we have no information about the exact date when Tatunashvili’s corpse will be brought to Georgia,’ Botkoveli said.

On the question, what the Patriarchate would do if the body was not transferred, Botkoveli said that no repeated application would be made. ‘In this case we will have to consider that Russian Patriarchate has no resources to help us,’ he said.
