MIA: Investigation aims at identifying those persons who were trying to distort facts

The Ministry of Internal Affairs will find out who directly or indirectly influenced the results of the trial into the gravest crime in Khorava Street, – Vladimer Botsvadze, Director of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs made the regarding statement at the briefing held today.

According to him, MIA is investigating the criminal case in order to identify the additional circumstances that were revealed during the trial with regard to the murder case.

“The purpose of the investigation is to identify those persons who have been constantly trying to distort facts (including expertise conclusions) into the case and trying to have impact on the results of judicial proceedings by financial or other influences” – Vladimer Botsvadze said.

According to him, there is a reasonable suspicion that some persons were trying to disrupt the version of the investigation in order to avoid responsibility for certain individuals.

According to Botsvadze, several people were interviewed yesterday. Questioning and other investigative activities will continue.
