MFA: Georgia reiterates its commitment to reset relations and reinstate strategic partnership at the U.S. State Dept
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia (MFA) has issued a statement regarding the meeting held by Deputy Minister Lasha Darsalia at the U.S. Department of State.
According to the ministry, during his working visit to Washington, Lasha Darsalia met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Brendan Hanrahan on February 3.
Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, also attended the meeting.
“During the discussions at the U.S. Department of State, both sides addressed key issues concerning bilateral relations. The Georgian delegation once again underscored its readiness to reset relations with the United States and highlighted the importance of renewing the strategic partnership.
The conversation also covered ongoing regional developments and the prospects for enhanced cooperation with Georgia.
The American side reaffirmed its unconditional support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement notes.
For reference, the United States has also released a statement concerning the meeting between Deputy Minister Darsalia and U.S. officials at the State Department.
