Traffic temporarily banned on Zhinvali-Barisakho-Shatili road due to landslide

Traffic has been temporarily prohibited on the 96th kilometer of the Zhinvali-Barisakho-Shatili road, near the village of Giorgitsminda, according to Georgia’s Roads Department under the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The restriction was imposed after a mass of earth slid onto the road as a result of heavy rainfall, the department said.

According to the agency, traffic for all types of motor vehicles will remain prohibited until the necessary response measures are completed.
