Media Solidarity March takes place in Tbilisi

A Media Solidarity March is being held in Tbilisi. Participants gathered at the Philharmonic Hall to march down to Rustaveli Avenue.

According to their statement, they are expressing solidarity with Mzia Amaglobeli, now jailed founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti media outlets, and condemning violent actions against media representatives. The march participants say they want everyone to hear that the media in Georgia refuses to be silenced.

Participants are carrying placards with messages: “No to Censorship”, “Fight Before It’s Too Late”, “Solidarity with Mzia Amaglobeli”, “Freedom for Mzia, Freedom for Prisoners of Conscience”, “Freedom for Media”.
