Representatives from different media outlets organised a demonstration at the Gori Police Building on Sunday.

Protesters are denouncing the facts and violent attacks on media personnel. Almost all media journalists and operators in the region put down the cameras, microphones, and phones at the police station and requested an immediate inquiry into the facts of the violence.

Protesters express solidarity with their injured colleagues and call on the Ministry of Internal Affairs to promptly examine the acts of violence.

A similar protest was also held in Tbilisi and Batumi today.

The masked individuals violently attacked TV Pirveli journalist Maka Chikhladze and cameraman Giorgi Shetsiruli on Saturday. The footage shows Maka Chikhladze being attacked from behind and thrown onto the ground as she is trying to protect the cameraman. Giorgi Shetsiruli lying on the ground was also brutally beaten. The probe has been launched under the second part of Article 154.
