Lithuania condemns illegal verdict of occupied Tskhinvali court against Zaza Gakheladze

Lithuanian Foreign Ministry commented on the illegal ruling of the occupied Tskhinvali court in case of the Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze and expressed support to Georgia’s territorial integrity.

“Lithuanian MFA strongly condemns sentencing of Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze by so-called court of Russian controlled South Ossetia. This is in clear breach of 2008 ceasefire agreement and ECHR judgment of 21 Jan 2021. Lithuania remains committed to Georgia’s sovereignty & territorial integrity,” reads the statement.

The occupied Tskhinvali Court sentenced the unlawfully detained Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze to 12 years and six months in prison on February 5.
