Lelo's Gegelia: We heard again that some parties refuse to run, we have our own course of action
“I welcome the decision to end the hunger strike — it is the only correct choice. Personally, I do not consider hunger strikes a form of political dialogue with colleagues,” said Grigol Gegelia, a member of the opposition Lelo party.
“There’s a strong possibility that today the democratic forces of Georgia have made a mistake with potentially serious and lasting consequences. However, this is their choice. I respect my colleagues’ decisions and have no intention of telling them what they should do. Every political entity has its own vision and strategy, and I respect that. As for Lelo, we will announce our decision to the public in due time. We have our own path and vision, which will be shared soon,” he said.
He also confirmed he has not communicated with Elene Khoshtaria.
Regarding the joint statement by eight opposition parties declaring their refusal to participate in the elections, Gegelia said: “Yesterday’s statement came from political forces we already knew were not planning to take part in the elections. There was nothing new. This is their decision. We, of course, have our own vision and course of action, and the public will soon be informed.”
