Lelo’s Datunashvili: Voter turnout suggests opposition voters support fight through elections
“Voter turnout confirms that the majority of the opposition electorate has supported participating in these elections,” stated Tazo Datunashvili, a member of the Lelo-Strong Georgia coalition.
According to him, the turnout recorded as of 10:00 a.m. today surpasses the figures from the 2021 local elections by approximately 15,000 to 16,000 voters.
“At 10:00 a.m., 276,000 people had already cast their ballots, exceeding the 2021 self-government election figures by 15,000 to 16,000 voters. I would like to extend my gratitude to the opposition-minded voters; without their participation and activity, this number would not have been achieved. Once again, this confirms that the majority of the opposition electorate supports the fight through these elections,” Datunashvili remarked.
Datunashvili also addressed reports of violations at polling stations, noting that voters are issued two ballots per person.
