I hope we will be able to say on Sunday that free and transparent elections were held in Georgia, -said Jos Douma, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Georgia.
Douma noted after the meeting held between representatives of the diplomatic corps and the united opposition that the meeting was informative.
“Today we only received detailed information about the ongoing processes in Zugdidi. We have not discussed other details of elections. I hope we will be able to say on Sunday that free and transparent elections were held in Georgia,” said the ambassador.
By-elections will be held on May 19 in Georgia. Georgian citizens will go to the polls to elect five municipality mayors, as well as to fill one vacant majoritarian seat in the Parliament and eight majoritarian seats in municipality councils.
