ISFED Executive Director: It was very difficult to publish the statement

This statement came as a shock to many. We understand this situation best. However, this is a reality, no matter how difficult it may be, Elene Nizharadze, Executive Director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) says in her statement posted on the social network.

As Elene Nizharadze noted, the organization tried to maintain the high standard and did not turn a blind eye to anything.

“It was very difficult to publish this statement. This is the most difficult and stressful period for ISFED as an organization and for each of its employees. I have not had such a difficult challenge in the organization. I want to thank each and every employee for their courage and resilience.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the people who have expressed their support. We appreciate it very much and we need this support now.

I know that this statement came as a shock to many. We understand this situation best. However, this is a reality, no matter how difficult it may beUnfortunately, we often have to deal with such difficult facts in life and it seems the most important thing is to accept this reality and somehow cope with it. It is a very high standard, but we tried to maintain this high standard and not to turn a blind eye to anything,” Elene Nizharadze said.

The ISFED published the updated information on the final results of the October 31, 2020 parliamentary elections. According to the organization, a flaw was revealed in the formula for calculating the votes. As a result of the correction, the percentage of votes received by election entities changed slightly. This difference does not affect the number of mandates secured through the elections in the parliament by any election entity.

According to the latest CEC data, Georgian Dream won 48,22% of votes. The PVT adjusted data provided by the Fair Elections yesterday, the maximum result received by the Georgian Dream made 48,3% and the minimum – 46,9%. Thus, the corrected results of the parallel counting of ISFED coincide with the final results of the CEC, taking into account the accuracy margin. It should be noted that according to the results of the parallel count published by the organization on November 1, the maximum result of the Georgian Dream was 46.5%, and the minimum – 45.1%.
