The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Protection met with the Head of the UNHCR Representative Office in Georgia.
Mikheil Sarjveladze expressed his gratitude to Kemlin Furley for her cooperation and highlighted the importance of the partnership with UNHCR. The Minister briefed the Head of Mission on ongoing projects aimed at resettling up to 13,000 internally displaced families.
The meeting also addressed the state policy on IDPs and the development of a relevant framework document. In addition, the parties discussed the situation of Ukrainian citizens currently residing in Georgia due to ongoing hostilities, and the state-provided assistance, which includes financial aid and free medical services.
Mikheil Sarjveladze affirmed that active cooperation between the Ministry and UNHCR will continue.
