Girchi says NGOs to close if Transparency Law stands after elections
“If Transparency Law is not repealed after the elections, the NGOs will be fined, and the process will end up in their closure. But let us see how the processes develop,” Sandro Rakviashvili, a member of the parliamentary Girchi party, told the GPB’s First Channel.
According to Rakviashvili, non-governmental organizations face fines.
“They will face fines during the elections, and they will probably pay the fines at first, but after the elections, the law will be repealed, and the process will come to an end,” he said.
The Georgian Parliament overrode President Salome Zourabichvili’s veto on the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence on May 28.
