Girchi: Republican Party’s initiative to be constructive

Girchi describes the initiative of Republican Party’s Chairwoman Khatuna Samnidze about natural threshold proportional system elections as constructive, said Sandro Rakviashvili, a member of the opposition Girchi Party.

According to Rakviashvili, if the initiative is registered, Girchi will enter the parliament and stop boycotting the parliamentary work.

“Amendments to the Constitution are much more important than any demand of the opposition. I welcome the statement, and I am sure there are many people in the opposition who support the initiative,” Sandro Rakviashvili claimed.

Khatuna Samnidze, Chairwoman of the Republican Party said Republican Party is ready to take part in onetime voting for the elections with natural threshold and proportional system if the ruling Georgian Dream registers the draft bill, said.
