Economy Minister, Uzbek ministers inspect construction works of Anaklia Deep Sea Port
Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, alongside Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov, inspected construction works of Anaklia Deep Sea Port.
Active construction work on the marine infrastructure at the Anaklia deep-sea port site is underway, implemented by the leading global Belgian company Jan De Nul N.V. in partnership with a Georgian partner.
The completion of the project’s first phase is expected in 2029, after which the port’s annual throughput capacity will be at least 600,000 TEU. Furthermore, the Anaklia Deep Sea Port will accept large, Panamax-class vessels, the ships that cannot be handled by Georgia’s other ports.
