MP Rakviashvili sceptical GD to approve Inquiry Commission on Shovi disaster

I don’t believe an investigative commission will be formed in connection with the Shovi disaster, primarily because the ruling Georgian Dream will not authorise it, said opposition MP Sandro Rakviashvili.

Rakviashvili also stated that he personally would not participate in forming the investigative commission.

“I’m personally not going to participate in the creation of the investigative commission due to lacking the competence to assist my colleagues in that context. It’s a matter of responsibility of the United National Movement, but I’ll support it if they succeed. I don’t believe that an investigative commission will be formed in connection with the Shovi disaster, primarily because the ruling Georgian Dream will not authorise it, and, as far as I know, Gakharia’s party does not support it either, so this is simply an excuse to recall the UNM once again,” he said.
