Georgia’s PM: Europe faces serious systemic problems; plummeting poll ratings reflect flawed economic and political trajectories
“Misguided economic and political trends persist across Europe, and the approval ratings recorded by various polling organisations are, of course, a direct reflection of that reality,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in response to journalists’ questions about a recent IPSOS survey.
According to the head of government, the declining ratings of individual European leaders reflect broader, systemic issues troubling the continent.
“Generally speaking, Europe is facing serious problems. Strictly speaking, it is hardly our place to comment on the approval ratings of foreign leaders; we are simply pointing out the broader difficulties currently pervading Europe. We are talking about fundamentally flawed economic and political trends here. Naturally, the approval ratings captured in various polling organisations’ research directly reflect those missteps. The rest remains a matter for the respective societies and sovereign nations concerned,” Kobakhidze stated.
