President Kavelashvili joins olive harvest at Svanidze Olive in Kakheti

President Mikheil Kavelashvili, accompanied by his wife, has visited the Svanidze Olive company in Dedoplistskaro Municipality, Kakheti, and taken part in the olive harvest.

Together with the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and representatives of local and legislative authorities, the President toured the olive groves and the production facility. According to the Presidential Administration’s press office, Kavelashvili was shown the full cycle of olive growing, harvesting and oil production.

“Attention was given to the prospects for developing olive production, the importance of the quality of Georgian agricultural produce, and opportunities to make it more competitive on international markets.

Developing Georgian agricultural production, introducing modern technologies and producing high-quality goods create important opportunities to realise the potential of the country’s agriculture and to establish local produce on international markets,” the presidential administration said.
