Band Iriao, Georgian contender of 2018 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) will perform on the stage in the second half of the second Semi-Final of the contest, which will be held on May 10, 2018.
Semi Final Allocation Draw has taken place in Lisbon’s City Hall.
During the ceremony, the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, handed over the Host City Insignia to Fernando Medina, Mayor of Lisbon. The Portuguese capital is now officially the Host City of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
Total of 43 countries participate in Eurovision 2018.
The first part of the draw determined in which Semi-Final each of the six pre-qualified countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and host country Portugal) will broadcast and vote. Italy, France and Germany were drawn to vote in the Second Semi-Final on Thursday 10th May. Spain, the United Kingdom and Portugal will vote in the First Semi-Final. These countries are directly qualified to the final.
The second draw decided in which semi-final each of the other participating countries will perform. 19 countries will compete in the first Semi-Final on 8th May; in particular in the First half of the first Semi-Final: Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Iceland, Israel and Lithuania; while in the second half of the first Semi-Final: Armenia, Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Greece, Ireland and Switzerland.
18 countries will participate in the second Semi-Final on 10th May. The results are as following – First half of the second Semi-Final: Australia, Denmark, Norway, Moldova, Romania,Russia, San Marino,Serbia, Netherlands; the second half of the second Semi-Final: Hungary, Georgia, Malta, Montenegro, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine.
The 63rd Eurovision Song Contest will take place at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. The final of the contest will be held on May 12.
The music band Iriao will present Georgia at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). Composer Davit Malazonia is the music director of the band. He worked in Germany during 15 years. Iriao creates unique music which is a mix of jazz and Georgian ethno folk.
