Georgia to resume mandatory face mask-wearing outdoors

Georgian government’s Interagency Coordination Council decided to restore the compulsory face mask-wearing outdoors starting today, August 17.

Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze stressed the face masks wearing to be the most efficient measure to curb the Covid-19 fourth wave in Georgia amid the worsened epidemiological situation.

The government previously introduced mandatory face mask-wearing in public for five and more people.

Georgia reported 6 208 coronavirus cases, 3 539 recoveries, and 47 deaths on Tuesday.
