The Ministry of Justice and Civil Integration of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia held a project in Bakuriani to promote the integration and socialisation of adolescents with special needs displaced from Abkhazia.

The event was attended by Giorgi Jincharadze, Chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, and Aliona Chkhotua, Minister of Justice and Civil Integration of Abkhazia.

Jincharadze spoke about the importance of supporting the social integration of adolescents and said the Abkhazian government would continue to actively support similar initiatives.

“The project was held over one week and involved 20 adolescents with special needs displaced from Abkhazia and their parents.

“The young participants took part in painting, modeling and various team-based creative activities. The parents attended thematic training sessions aimed at helping them better understand the specifics of their children’s development, identify their needs correctly and strengthen practical support skills.

“The project is implemented annually by the Ministry of Justice and Civil Integration of Abkhazia. Its goal is to develop the self-expression and communication skills of adolescents with special needs, promote their socialization, as well as empower parents and support them in their children’s development,” the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia said.
