Georgia reports 6,208 coronavirus cases, 3,539 recoveries, 47 deaths

Georgia reported 6,208 coronavirus cases, 3,539 recoveries, and 47 deaths on Tuesday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 2,540 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 810 cases, and the Imereti region with 782 cases.

A total of 47,872 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 33,873 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,999 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 12,97 %, while 10,63 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 490,462, among them 429,190 people recovered and 6,483 died.

There are 79 people quarantined, 6,965 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 3,481 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.
