Georgia might hit record high coronavirus cases on Tuesday, NITAG Chair says

The Head of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) in Georgia, Ivane Chkhaidze, expects a new record high Covid-19 cases on Tuesday “reaching 28,000-30,000.”

In an interview with GPB First Channel, Chkhaidze deemed the Omicron “uncontrolled spread mutation” that no country can prevent. He said, “No matter what measures are taken, Omicron will still spread uncontrollably.”

Remarking on curbing measures, Chkhaidze stressed the importance of a face mask and the vaccination.
