Georgia draws 0-0 with Ukraine in Nations League match #1TVSPORT

Georgia hosted Ukraine in the second round of the UEFA Nations League, with the match at Tbilisi’s Dinamo Arena ending in a goalless draw, 0-0.

Following Willy Sagnol’s departure, Ramaz Svanadze took charge of the Georgian national team for the first time as head coach. He made no major changes to the lineup, opting for the more familiar 3-5-2 formation, with Otar Kiteishvili, Giorgi Chakvetadze and Giorgi Tsitaishvili named in the starting XI.

Despite Ukraine attempting to stop the Crusaders with a physical approach, Georgia took control of the game and created several dangerous chances.

In the 15th minute, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s dangerous free kick narrowly missed the target. Five minutes later, Georgia came closest to scoring when Anatoliy Trubin produced an excellent save to keep out Giorgi Chakvetadze’s powerful effort, tipping the ball away from the top corner.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Georgia creating more pressure and attacking more frequently, but without finding the breakthrough.

Svanadze made several changes to the attacking line, taking off Georges Mikautadze, Chakvetadze and Kiteishvili and bringing on Khvicha Kvernadze, Zuriko Davitashvili and Nika Mekvabishvili. However, the changes did not result in a goal.

The 0-0 draw gave Georgia its first point of the Nations League campaign.

Georgia will play its next match away against Hungary on October 2.
