Health Minister pays official visit to Armenia

Georgian Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Mikheil Sarjveladze is on an official visit to Armenia, the ministry’s press service reported.

As part of the visit, Sarjveladze met with Armenia’s Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan.

The sides discussed cooperation between Georgia and Armenia in the areas of labour and social protection, including social protection policy and social services, as well as ways to improve access to social services and the quality of services provided to citizens.

The sides also exchanged experience and practices in the relevant fields and discussed ways to further deepen cooperation.

During the visit, Sarjveladze also visited Armenia’s Unified Social Service and the Welfare Information Systems Foundation. He familiarized himself with the principles underlying systems for assessing functional capabilities and social needs, practices for delivering social services, and approaches to the digitalization of data systems.

Particular attention was paid to assessing citizens’ needs, the effective use of data and the development of social services tailored to those needs.
