GD's Mdinaradze: New U.S. gov't narratives conflict with actions of its lower echelons, including embassy

“It is regrettable that the statements and narratives of the newly elected U.S. government stand in stark contrast to the actions of its lower echelons, including the US Embassy in Georgia, which are completely detached from the words we hear,” stated Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Georgian Dream Executive Secretary.

According to Mdinaradze, “the public relations campaigns conducted by the opposition are taking place entirely independently of the US Embassy in Georgia, which seems unaware of the current situation in the country.”

“If anyone in this country believes that street protests, PR campaigns, and the disruptions orchestrated by the opposition are occurring in isolation from the influential patrons of these activities or from the U.S. Embassy in Georgia, they fundamentally misunderstand the context of what is happening in Georgia today—both globally and in specific instances.

It is regrettable that the statements and narratives of the newly elected U.S. government are one thing, while the actions of its lower echelons, including the U.S. Embassy, are utterly disconnected from those statements. I hope this disparity will be resolved promptly. Naturally, the United States is not a small country, and its bureaucracy is substantial, which complicates the challenge of confronting the ‘Deep State’ and its influences. While I am sure these issues exist at various lower levels, our priority must be our own situation.

We must accept that our primary concern should be ourselves, not Ukraine or Moldova—first us, and then we can engage with others as we see fit. However, the U.S. Embassy in Georgia continues to support what is referred to as the organization of outdated actions. This reflects our assessment. I hope that in time, this approach, the arbitrariness of lower echelons, and the service to the ‘Deep State’ rather than to the American people will come to an end. Subjectively, this also aligns with our interests,” Mdinaradze concluded.
