U.S. Embassy shares details of meeting between Chargé d’Affaires and Metropolitan Shio Mujiri

The U.S. Embassy has issued details regarding the meeting between Chargé d’Affaires Alan Purcell and His Eminence Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, along with other clergy members.

The discussion centred on the enduring friendship between the two nations and the vital role of the Church in Georgia’s rich history and culture.

“The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Alan Purcell, met at the Patriarchate with His Eminence Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri), along with other hierarchs and members of the clergy. They discussed the enduring friendship between the two countries and the vital role of the Church in Georgian history and culture. The embassy expressed pride in its contributions to the preservation of Georgia’s historic churches and monuments across the country,” the statement read.
