GD Chair vows to follow through on implementation of EC's 12 recommendations

Irakli Kobakhidze, Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, vowed to follow through with the fulfillment of the EC-proposed 12 recommendations with unilateral responsibility and without the participation of the radical opposition.

According to Kobakhidze, the “obligation” is to implement the recommendations. Two draft bills remain to be adopted, and that will be done in due course.

“We will adopt all laws by the end of June. There are no political prisoners in Georgia, so this point has nothing to do with our country. What the European Parliament says has no value. As for the bodies, which decide on accession, they have said nothing in that regard because political prisoners do not exist in Georgia,” he said.
