Gakharia for Georgia's Liluashvili urges Kobakhidze to demand Tsulukiani's testimony on Gavrilov
“I advise Kobakhidze to request that Tea Tsulukiani voluntarily appear before the so-called commission to explain how she facilitated Gavrilov’s arrival and why she clung to her chair,” stated Beka Liluashvili, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
Liluashvili accused Irakli Kobakhidze of escorting Gavrilov into the country and then refusing to step down as Parliament Speaker to defuse the escalating crisis.
“Kobakhidze appeared on television yesterday, alternating between raving and lying. This individual, with his contorted spy mentality, aims to deceive the public with these fabrications and absurd disinformation. He was the one who welcomed Gavrilov, entertained him, and raised a toast with him. Despite taking responsibility for Gavrilov’s actions, he allowed Gavrilov to enter the country at his behest, only to board a plane and leave afterwards.
As the situation deteriorated, the Parliament Speaker clung to his position with all his might, refusing to relinquish it to resolve the crisis. A man who interprets events through the lens of one-sided apologies—clearly assigned and at the expense of the nation’s interests—undermines Antsukhelidze’s heroism and trivializes the April 9 massacre inflicted by Russian forces. His rhetoric about a Deep State serves only to mislead the public—what counter-argument can we provide to combat this?
If he seeks a serious answer, I advise him to remain calm. He should ask Tea Tsulukiani to voluntarily attend the so-called commission, to answer questions about how she facilitated Gavrilov’s entry and why she clung to her position. She should address these inquiries to the public. Ultimately, she will have to respond for her actions; it is wiser to face the questions than to resort to deceit and agitation,” Liluashvili declared.
