For Change's Melia: Salome Zourabichvili fails to address divisive issues
“Whatever assessment Salome Zourabichvili makes today, it does not change the established fact that she has done absolutely nothing to proactively resolve divisive issues,” stated Nika Melia, the For Change coalition member, on social media.
Melia emphasized that “true unity must be based on fundamental and tangible issues.”
“Regarding Salome Zourabichvili’s platform, two significant divisive issues required reconciliation:
1. The investigative commission and the question of participation versus non-participation—supposedly agreed upon;
2. The matter of participation or non-participation in the local elections remains unresolved,” he noted.
“Victory is achievable only through a clear stance. Currently, we are all assessing Gakharia based on the position he has articulated, and we will either support or oppose this stance. In this context, Salome Zourabichvili’s lack of a defined position is an even greater issue.
Whatever assessment she delivers today does not change the undeniable fact that she has done nothing to preventively address divisive issues. If we aspire to achieve unity in the future, it must stem from addressing fundamental and real concerns. We should not deceive the public by pretending to coordinate something significant,” Melia concluded.
