“We are a prime example of how radical forces, particularly through foreign funding, are encouraged to target state and democratic institutions,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, stated in Washington.

As the head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry noted, putting the issue of political terrorism on the international agenda is a highly significant initiative by the US Secretary of State.

“The conference organised in Washington is of great importance. It was an excellent opportunity for us to participate and speak about the challenges our country has faced in recent times. We are a prime example of how radical forces are encouraged, particularly through foreign funding, to act against state and democratic institutions. These are precisely the critical issues that ought to concern the international community,” Maka Botchorishvili stated.

She also noted that an engaging discussion took place among fellow ministers, focusing on crucial matters.

“Naturally, when we discuss terrorism and extremism, the various ideological dimensions are highly important. In this regard, our participation in this ministerial meeting was an exceptional opportunity for Georgia to once again draw attention to the specific challenges we face, the problem of radicalism, and the manifestations of political terrorism that we have witnessed in Georgia in recent years,” Maka Botchorishvili stated.

The Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, participated in the ministerial meeting on “The Resurgence of Political Terrorism” in Washington, D.C., at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. She addressed the gathered delegates.
