Foreign Minister Botchorishvili joins Washington ministerial organised by US Secretary of State
Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, is in Washington, D.C., attending a high-level ministerial meeting on “The Resurgence of Political Terrorism”, at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Marco Rubio is hosting delegations from more than 60 countries in the US capital for the event.
The US Secretary of State has already delivered his opening address to the ministerial participants. Rubio declared that, “Under President Trump, for the first time, the United States is building the infrastructure, the partnership, and the strategy to defeat the scourge of far-left terror.”
He further added that “it is time for the people of the civilised world to defend ourselves, to stand united against this encroaching darkness and fight, fight for what is ours.”
Addressing the delegates, Marco Rubio stated: “You are here because in your streets, political leaders are being targeted, and police officers are being beaten and burned alive. The situation is deteriorating, and it can no longer be ignored.”
Georgia’s Foreign Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, is also scheduled to address the ministerial meeting.
