FM Botchorishvili: MSC is opportunity for Georgia to emphasise its priorities and ensure it is taken seriously
“The Munich Security Conference (MSC) provides Georgia with a valuable platform to engage with our partners and, within the scope of our capabilities, to articulate our priorities,” said Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
As Botchorishvili explained, she intends to emphasise at the conference how Georgia perceives itself as an integral part of European security and the importance of being recognised and taken seriously.
“The Munich Security Conference is a prominent event where notable participants gather to discuss European security. For Georgia, it is an opportunity to communicate with partners, distinguished guests, and conference attendees. Within this context, we will emphasise Georgia’s aspirations, our perspective on our role within European security, and the contributions we make to ongoing discussions across the continent. It is vital that Georgia is recognised as a serious partner, demonstrating a respectful attitude that enhances the security of both Europe and Georgia,” Botchorishvili stated.
She also emphasised the significance of showcasing Georgia’s role in the Middle Corridor during the event.
“Many sessions are planned during the conference, including one dedicated to connectivity and the role of the Middle Corridor within European security. It is essential for us to present Georgia from this perspective, to discuss the importance of Georgia in the Middle Corridor, and more broadly, the role that the Middle Corridor plays in connecting Europe and Asia,” Botchorishvili added.
