FM Botchorishvili: EU integration often used as tool of destabilization. EU integration crucial and we expect relevant approach
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said, “European integration remains Georgia’s strategic priority.”
In a joint press point with her Hungarian colleague Peter Siarto, she noted: “We are unhappy to observe that different players have frequently utilised European integration as a means of destabilising the nation in recent years.”
Botchorishvili believes that European integration is “very important” for Georgia’s European future, and she wants “a relevant approach” from all stakeholders.
“For many years, Georgia has shown itself to be a trustworthy partner. We are always there when our partners want us to be, whether it be in the pursuit of peace, security, economic growth, or a brighter future.
I think Georgia can help make sure that Europe has a better future. To achieve this, we must sit down at the table and discuss important matters. We must stop using this issue for destabilization and interference in the internal affairs of the country, which, unfortunately, we frequently witness in Georgia,” she continued.
