European Youth Card to launch in Georgia with Tbilisi City Hall as exclusive licensee

The European Youth Card—also known as the Opportunity Card—will soon be available in Georgia, with Tbilisi City Hall serving as the exclusive licensee. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced during a municipal government meeting.

Kaladze noted that the card provides access to over 25,000 discounts across 40 European countries.

“Starting this fall, young people in Georgia aged 18 to 30 will be able to access the European Youth Card, a widely used tool across Europe that unites nearly 9 million youth. The program aims to expand access to mobility, education, accommodation, sports, culture, and entertainment. As the card’s exclusive licensor in Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall has worked hard to bring this opportunity to our young people,” said Kaladze.

To ensure nationwide accessibility, Tbilisi City Hall has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bank of Georgia. Together, they will promote the program and facilitate card issuance from fall 2025.

According to Kaladze, the European Youth Card will be the first discount card of its kind in Georgia, offering real benefits not only to students but to all young people under 30.

“Thousands of discounts across Europe are already available, and the number of local offers is steadily increasing. This will be one of Tbilisi City Hall’s major initiatives to support youth,” he added.
