European Georgia: Only early elections to pull country out of crisis
The opposition European Georgia member, Levan Tarkhnishvili, believes the electoral reform-related changes are shallow.
Tarkhnishvili thinks only early elections could pull the country out of the crisis.
“These changes are useless. European Georgia and other opposition parties denounce the memorandum. We continue the boycott until our demands are met,” Tarkhnishvili said.
Earlier today, NGOs, the diplomatic corps, and the Central Election Commission (CEC) representatives discussed the electoral reform at the meeting in the parliament.
The meeting attendees also talked over the memorandum signed between the ruling Georgian Dream and opposition Citizens parties.
According to the reform project, the CEC should be reformed, voting through electronic means should be introduced.
