European Commissioner: EU continues to work to ensure access to vaccines

Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement welcomed the arrival of Covid-19 vaccines in Georgia.

“Pleased that first doses of COVID19 vaccines arrived to Georgia via the COVAX this morning. The EU continues to work with partners to ensure access to vaccines for all,” Olivér Várhelyi wrote on Twitter.

The first batch of 43,200 shots of AstraZeneca vaccines arrived in Georgia through the Covax platform on Saturday. Georgia will receive 129,600 doses from AstraZeneca. The delivery of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is expected later in March.
