EU Integration Committee Chair: MEPs expect Georgian opposition to enter parliament

The EU Integration Committee Chair, Maka Bochorishvili, summed up her first visit to Brussels on Wednesday.

Her visit aimed to inform MEPs of Georgia’s Action Plan, which is the application for EU membership in 2024. For that, the Association Agreement (AA) needs to be successfully implemented, Bochorishvili noted.

She said, “MEPs agree that Georgia is a leading country in terms of AA implementation. The Georgian government is on the right path to EU integration.”

Bochorishvili also noted that MEPs show interest in Georgia’s current political situation.

“A boycott language is incomprehensible and unacceptable for the European Parliament members. They expect the opposition will enter the parliament,” Bochorishvili added.
