Environmental Protection Committee Chair meets with state agencies to deliberate on legal package on Pet Animals
Maia Bitadze, Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, held a meeting with the state agencies to deliberate on the legal package on Pet Animals and the enforcement aspects.
According to the Parliament’s press office, the discourse included the terms for the adoption of the legal acts to be endorsed by the Government, the Finance Ministry, the Environmental Protection and Agriculture Ministry, the Regional Development Ministry, and the municipalities.
The obligations of the pet owners were discussed along with the terms provided for the identification and registration of their pets.
The parties discussed the obligations of subjects operating in the pet management sphere and the effective dates of the sanctions applicable to pet owners under the Administrative Offences Code.
The meeting was attended by: the representatives of the Environmental Protection and Agriculture Ministry, the Regional Development Ministry, the Tbilisi Animal Monitoring Agency, as well as the Agriculture Minister of Adjara AR and his deputies, reads the statement.
