Environmental Agency issues weather warning for June 16-17

The National Environmental Agency has issued a weather warning for the coming days.

According to forecasts, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Western Georgia on June 16-17, while hail is possible in some areas of Eastern Georgia. Strong westerly winds are also anticipated.

“The expected rainfall may lead to a significant rise in river levels, flash floods in smaller rivers, and the activation of landslides and mudslides in hilly and mountainous regions,” the agency said, noting the danger level as medium.
