Education sector workers protest at Education Ministry

Professors, teachers, parents, and education sector workers are protesting outside the Ministry of Education, organized by the movement Georgian Education is in Danger.

Protesters are demanding the resignation of the ministry’s leadership and an end to what they describe as repression in the education system.

They claim Georgia’s higher education system has already lost membership in two European quality management organizations: the European Quality Assurance Register and the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

Education experts have also warned that the National Center for Educational Quality Development risks losing its membership in the European Association.
