Economy Minister: UAE visit was crucial for strengthening trade and economic relations

“Our participation in the World Government Summit was extremely significant, with numerous bilateral meetings held with heads of government alongside the summit,” First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili told Georgian journalists in Dubai.

According to Davitashvili, leaders from more than 30 countries participated in the summit, and the Georgian delegation had the opportunity to meet with delegations from various Gulf countries and discuss different areas of cooperation, including economic and trade relations.

“This visit was very significant for strengthening our trade and economic relations with the United Arab Emirates, as we discussed ongoing projects with this country, as well as planned and prospective projects that we will develop jointly. This is particularly relevant for attracting increased foreign direct investment across diverse sectors, including real estate, energy, transport logistics, and infrastructure.

The Gulf region is one of our important tourist markets, and therefore, very productive meetings were held regarding deepening tourist connections, which I believe will yield results. The tourist flow from Gulf countries to Georgia will increase in 2025,” stated Levan Davitashvili.
