Earthquake death toll rises to 79 in Turkey

The death toll from a powerful earthquake in the province of Izmir, Turkey, increased to 79, Turkish media outlets report.

Turkish authorities say a total of 1 120 aftershocks have been recorded,  43 of which were over 4.0 magnitude.

At least 962 people have been injured, of those, 743 have been discharged from hospitals and 219 still remain there.

3-year-old and 14-year-old girls were pulled from rubbles. In total, 105 people have been rescued from the rubbles.
