Per Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s decision, the Georgian government would deploy relevant equipment and rescuers to participate in the ongoing rescue efforts in Turkey following the recent deadly earthquake.

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Situations Management Service personnel will engage in the rescue operations, the government’s administration announced.

This morning, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Turkey near the Syrian border, killing 284 people and injuring 2,323.
